President's Message

Best selling author, Dr. Sheila Murray Bethel teaches that,"One of the most courageous things you can do is identify yourself, know who you are, what you believe in and where you want to go".

At the JFI Conference in Baytown, our past president, Melodye Jensen, stood before a room of attendees and spoke of San Antonio Junior Forum’s year of service. I heard her say, “We are small but mighty”.  Within those few words, so much was said. For those of us that are part of SAJF, they are an acknowledgment of who we are and what we have been able to accomplish. Those simple words speak to the heart of what our organization is about and what we believe in.  They tell a story of individual women joining together to become the “We” in that statement. Through the challenges and obstacles we have encountered, we have found strength, friendship and purpose and our small group is definitely mighty!

Our theme for this club year is “Inspiring Women”. To inspire is to fill someone with the urge or ability to do or feel something. Inspiration can come from a person, place, or an experience. It can be a powerful motivator. This year, our challenge and our goal is to inspire other amazing women to join San Antonio Junior Forum. Becoming a volunteer is one of the best ways to make a difference. Whatever our passion, however we get involved, volunteering offers a way to have a real and lasting impact in our community.  San Antonio Junior Forum makes it easy to be part of a fun environment where we can make new friends and learn new skills, all while doing meaningful service and helping others.

We have a fun and eventful year planned! Your suggestions have inspired us to incorporate fresh new volunteer opportunities, to become more involved with our friends at Seton Home and Haven for Hope, and to commit our energies in areas that will be both fulfilling and meaningful.  Our new social calendar, which will be posted to the website, will offer a variety of fun events and plenty of chances to get together for Friends in Forum Time!  Let’s have a wonderful year together!
